POLARIS is

available in two sizes, 90 and 110 cm, and in different configurations for processing straight line, lock-bottom, double-wall, 4 and 6 corner boxes and a multitude of special boxes listed in our box book.

This folder gluer adopts the new V.I.S. (Vega Integrated Systems 2) electronic machine function control system, which allows integration and management of all folder gluer functions through an innovative multi-use touch screen console. Interfacing with the customers’ factory systems and integration with third-parts on machine systems (gluers, for example) make POLARIS an advanced solution of IT technology of this product.

VERSATILE, FLEXIBLE, ADAPTABLE 

Created to satisfy complex box folding needs, it is modular. It can accommodate a variety of systems such as glue control, code, printing, to include inserts (leaflets, cards, magnetic tags, labels, etc.) and it can extract individual failed packaging units as needed.

INTRODUCTION

Feeder with high grip belts, mechanical and electromechanical vibration with optional suction. Motor with potentiometer for adjusting the pitch between boxes. Thickness gauges and blowing squares, belt humidifier and belt cleaning systems complete the equipment of the feeder.

PRE-BREAKING

Two-transport section for pre-breaking of first and third creasing. This section enables the folding of crash lock bottom boxes (by an optional device).

MBA

Blank alignment module (optional Mechanical Blank Alignment) for easier machine set-up and ideal alignment of the blank left or right.

BRAILLE

Patented solution for Braille embossing in line (optional) with 4 or 5 rows of dots. Multiple embossing wheels can be mounted to impress braille on multiple box flaps and in principle on all box flaps.

PRINT CONTROL

An additional module after the alignment section allows, through vacuum of the blank from the top, to scan each individual box and make a print check over the entire width of the blank. The scan is, for example, compared with a properly parameterised reference template in order to reject any blanks that do not conform to the reference.

EXTRA MODULE

Extra module with three conveyors for making boxes with automatic bottom in a dedicated section to reduce the changeover time of the type of box to be folded. The module is suitable for making of high-speed crash lock bottom boxes through the removal of mechanical spring hooks and through motorised frontal folding shafts with automatic lifting (optional).

DOUBLE EXTRA MODULE

Double extra module with three transports for making crash lock bottom, 4 / 6 corner boxes at high speed by removing the mechanical spring hooks and by 4 motorised front and back folding shafts with automatic lifting (optional).

GLUING UNIT

Lower left gluing unit with gluing wheels of variable thickness for gluing the entire glue flap. Removable pot for washing and adjustable glue scrapers to vary the amount of glue on the wheel. Quality control systems can be inserted to monitor the amount of glue applied on the box. Glue gun support for glue distribution systems from the top with interlocked plug for the insertion of an optional spray glue dispensing system with quality control.

CLOSING SECTION

Section with three conveyors with motorised and variable-speed upper folding belts to improve closing accuracy. Manually removable central transport for small formats and longitudinally movable. Pair of crushing rollers for closing creases to improve gluing tightness.

OUTPUT AND PRESSING SECTION

Transfer section to the motorised pressure belt. Two overhead belts transport the blank under the variable and reversible pneumatic pressure station. An electropneumatic and spray counting system counts the processed boxes. An additional box-squaring system helps the correct gluing of crash lock bottom boxes before pressure belt. A touch control station allows the control of machine functions, together with a radio frequency remote control.
